Do you mean why did I choose those particular categories for the boxes? If so, I chose them based on what I think is helpful for people to know about one another, partly informed by the kinds of challenges I see recurring in teams who don’t communicate enough about these things. If you mean how do I know those things about myself? Then I guess that is from feedback I have had from various people I have worked with over the years and also my own self-awareness. Of course these things are never fixed, people change and also we can be very different depending on the make-up of the team we are in. I see this as primarily a useful discussion starter. I did it with the new “design team” at Doteveryone on Monday and they loved it.
