It’s this, not this…

I’m about to embark on a mini UK tour, visiting Cardiff, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Belfast and Glasgow over the next few weeks. This is to run learning events for all those that applied to the Digital Fund.

The hope is for the events to not only be a space where we listen and take questions, and provide some practical ideas (we’ve Reach Volunteering and CAST doing sessions at them on digital trustee recruitment and good digital practices), but also for attendees to leave feeling they’ve a greater understanding of what “good” looks like in relation to the success factors of the Digital Fund.

As part of this, I’m creating a bunch of content, which I’ll also likely use internally at the National Lottery Community Fund — distributing learning materials for all the funding teams to use. And it’s here that I’d love your help.

One of the slide decks I’m creating is a “It’s this, not this” deck, which was inspired by my ex Doteveryone colleague Abbey Kos.

Some of the slides so far.

Tom Steinberg and the Digital Fund team have created a few, but I’d love to crowd-source some more and make them in to a visual deck (that I’ll obviously publish openly) which can be used as a guide and way of sense-checking.

Sometimes what good looks like in terms of digital and design can be pretty nuanced and there are already many misconceptions. I’ve created a simple document here that I’d love you to contribute to. Thank you!
